Important Date: 21 February

The Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will deliver the annual budget speech on 21 February 2024.

This year will be one of the more interesting Budget Speeches as it is an election year and there is no doubt that the government's priority will be votes and not the economy.

The tax base has been shrinking over the last decade and load shedding will not help at all to make the Minister's job easier. Add in severe transportation and logistical crises and you have a perfect storm.

Yet, we can expect tax cuts to keep the voters happy.
